As a group of conservative voices, we jointly write to express our support for The Growing Climate Solutions Act (S.3894/H.R.7393), bipartisan legislation recently introduced by Senators Mike Braun (R-IN) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) in the Senate and Representatives Don Bacon (R-NE), Elise Stefanik (RNY), Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE), Jim Baird (R-IN), John Katko (R-NY) and John Curtis (R-UT) in the House. It is a limited government approach to addressing climate change that empowers farmers, ranchers, and private landowners to voluntarily implement agriculture and farming practices that will reduce emissions.

ConservAmerica Welcomes the Introduction of The Growing Climate Solutions Act

This morning, Senators Mike Braun (R-IN), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) introduced the Growing Climate Solutions Act.

The Growing Climate Solutions Act creates a certification program at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to help solve technical entry barriers to farmer and forest landowner participation in carbon credit markets. These issues — including access to reliable information about markets and access to qualified technical assistance providers and credit protocol verifiers — have limited both landowner participation and the adoption of practices to help reduce the costs of developing carbon credits.
