ConservAmerica Comment on President's Executive Order on Infrastructure

WASHINGTON, DC— ConservAmerica issued the following statement on President Trump's EO on expediting infrastructure projects to help speed America's recovery from the coronavirus shutdown.

“We want appropriate and efficient environmental reviews for major projects. The NEPA process, as it is currently structured though, falls short of accomplishing that goal and has too often been an impediment to responsible economic development,” said Robert Dillon, a senior advisor to ConservAmerica. “We are in the middle of an economic emergency, so it’s appropriate for President Trump to look for ways to jumpstart the recovery. As a general matter, we believe the changes to NEPA previously proposed by the CEQ would allow projects to proceed while still protecting the environment and we encourage the administration to complete that process.”
