Thomas P King

With more than thirty years experience in finance and energy, Mr. King has completed structured, project, cross-border and acquisition transactions as well as equity and debt investments valued at more than $25 billion across six continents acting both in a proprietary capacity and for many of the world's most prominent energy and infrastructure companies. He has provided timely and critical early stage guidance, support and investment to energy and energy related start-ups including but not limited to Enact Systems, Inc. (, SolarReserve (, and CleanFund Commercial PACE Finance (

Mr. King is currently Managing Partner of CrossRiver Capital, (a vehicle that holds his family investments and through which he marshals resources to provide strategic advice and investment), and he is actively working to address solutions to the energy infrastructure challenges of Puerto Rico. Mr. King serves on the Board of ConservAmerica, and on the Advisory Board of Sterling Capital and Enact Systems. Prior Board roles have included the Geothermal Energy Association, Enact Systems, Westerly Wind, and CleanFund among others. Mr. King has acted as an Advisor to the New York Green Bank.

Mr.King was a Founding Partner and Managing Director of US Renewables Group, the first private equity group focused solely on renewable power, bio-fuels/chemicals, and related infrastructure.

In 2010, Mr. King raised $1.5 billion in capital for, and led, USRG Renewable Finance, an affiliate of US Renewables Group focused on structured debt products. In 2011, USRG Renewable Finance structured and arranged the debt financing for the landmark $1.4 billion SolarStrong project for SolarCity - the largest programmatic residential solar financing ever completed at the time and a critical industry milestone leading to lowering the cost of financing distributed solar through the asset-backed security markets.

Earlier in his career, Mr. King was the Head of Energy and Utilities, North America at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, and prior to that worked for over a decade with JP Morgan Chase in London and New York focused on project and structured finance. While at Chase Securities in New York, Mr. King headed the Chase Global Project Debt Fund, LLC, a $3 billion fund he raised and managed to facilitate long-term, primarily fixed-rate investments in the power, oil & gas, chemical and environmental sectors.

Mr. King has an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley and a BA in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
